We took daddy out to breakfast Sunday for father's day. Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble getting photos of their hubby? LOL
Here is Boo Bear excited to start his summer theater camp this week. It has been a blast and he's truly enjoying himself. I am so excited for him. This will be his first play!!

Summer Bucket List Check In
So I thought it would be fun to check up on our summer bucket list and see what we have accomplished each week. This next week will be quite busy and last week was just really crazy hectic and full of emotions. So here is our bucket list and what we have checked off so far...
-Sneak off to eat breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. ( this one is done !! ) Wahoo! We celebrated National Donut Day by me surprising Boo Bear for breakfast there.
- Hit the beach
- Swimming at Nana's house
- Library reading program
- Make Smores.
- Cookout with friends.
- Earn a free book with Barnes and Noble summer reading program.
- Have a pajama run.
- Shoot fireworks
-Church summer camp we are doing this one each weekend. They have a fun camp each Sunday ;)
- Explore a new place
-Bubble Paint
- Volcanoes on a tray
- Make rock candy
- Shaving Cream Painting
- Visit the aquatic center
- Ice cube painting
- Bowling
- Swimming with friends
So we have a couple things knocked off the list but we have lots of fun to keep up with! The bubble paint was okay for us. Maybe our bubbles weren't quite strong enough or something? Or we didn't have a great wand. Not sure but it wasn't as fun as we thought LOL. That happens sometime though!
Do you have a bucket list? What fun things have you already done?

Weekly Wrap-up: Wow What A Week!!
In our life this week... Boy how a week can change things. This morning I sit here with a great loss this week and a great gain. All within a few days. First, the loss. If you read my post here you will learn that our Basset Hound of 8 1/2 years passed away. He was a sweet houndie that we miss a whole lot. My son was having an incredibly hard time dealing with this loss. I knew it would be hard but I was not prepared for the days we had Monday and Tuesday. My mom created this lovely collage of him for me.
While I could have waited for another dog, my son was having an incredibly hard time. I knew I wanted to find a dog that was good with children, easy to work with, loveable... We found her last night. I have always wanted a Golden Retriever because they are amazing dogs. I've always wanted to work with a therapy dog as well. One I love dogs, two I love helping people...;) So here's our new addition to the family: Meet Molly :)
In our homeschool this week... Needless to say we did not get near as much book work accomplished as I wanted. Let's face it. When your grieving it's tough to focus on division. So we took it slow and got a few sections in our math book completed. We also continued working on our cursive book we are reviewing and did some other items. It was basically a slow week that we just took our time.
People we're seeing and places we're going... We took advantage of our summer bowling pass and went bowling with friends. We also hit the library program this week and saw some creatures that make you squirm. We had friends over yesterday to play as well. It was a keep busy kind of week. :)
I'm working on... Trying to get finished up with 1st grade so we can take a break and get ready for 2nd. I want to get a table for the homeschool room and get some other things organized as well.
I'm cooking... Nachos, sloppy joes... and that's all I think. I'm telling ya. It's been an off week here... Oh and I will cook a cheesecake for daddy this weekend ;)
I'm grateful for... Friends and family listening to our ravings this week.
A photo of the week.... They are getting to know each other and hanging out...

M is for Memorial...
Today is one of the hardest posts for me to write. M is for memorial... Today's memorial is to our special basset hound Oscar that went over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday.
Oscar was the prettiest basset I think I have ever seen....
Or just try and sit in Boo Bear's lap even though he was much too big to do so...
He spent lots of days lounging on the couch and was spoiled r-o-t-t-e-n...
He waited for Papa to come visit so he could chase the "red bug". (a.k.a a laser pointer) He was a very special dog no matter how hard it was to cut his toe nails or doctor his ears when the time was needed. Thank you Oscar for all the laughs, giggles and fun you gave us over the past 8 1/2 years. You were special. You were loved. You are greatly missed.

Our Summer Bucket/To-Do/ Adventure List....
Okay so I have seen these popping up all over the place. While we have a lot going on this summer I would really love to do just some simple things to make it special. Just something that we can shoot for ya know? Honestly, it gets so hot here that most of our time is spent indoors or in the water. I want to add in some special treats that we can really look forward to and enjoy this year. So, my plans, hopefully it works, will be to put my list here and share with you each week what one ( or three) things we did off of the list. So without further ado... Here's our Summer 2013 Bucket List:
- Sneak off to eat breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. ( this one is done !! ) Wahoo! We celebrated National Donut Day by me surprising Boo Bear for breakfast there.
- Hit the beach
- Swimming at Nana's house
- Library reading program
- Make Smores.
- Cookout with friends.
- Earn a free book with Barnes and Noble summer reading program.
- Have a pajama run.
- Shoot fireworks
- Church summer camp
- Explore a new place
- Bubble Paint
- Volcanoes on a tray
- Make rock candy
- Shaving Cream Painting
- Visit the aquatic center
- Ice cube painting
So that's it for now. Hopefully things will work where these are done and we have a great time doing them! This is our first time doing a bucket list. I will share next week if we got to do any of these this week. Have you made a bucket list? What do you plan on doing this summer?

Wrapping Up The Week...
In our homeschool this week... We are working on finishing up our first grade items. We still have math and science we are working on trying to complete them by July. Then we can take a few weeks off and get started with our next year's curriculum.
In science we finished up the chapter on Crustaceans and will start Mollusks next. We are moving right along and hopefully will finish up the book soon. I am really enjoying this and looking forward to our next book we are working on ;).
In math we finished up our beginning of multiplication and moved on to division this week. I don't really remember doing this in first grade but I am glad it does give him a good base to start with. The math should move pretty fast because he loves math. :)
I'm working on... The homeschool room for next year. I am working on some ideas I want to do in there and looking all over for inspiration. :) There are a few things I found that I liked... Mama Jenn has some great ideas on workbox systems and how she sets up her room. I also love this pin I found that has over 200 room ideas. I can look at these all day. LOL I am really in the decorating, revamping, moving around type mood. So I'm doing it all over the house, not just our homeschool room.
People we're seeing and places we're going... This week we had our Cub Scout end of the season party. We are planning some fun things this summer and my kiddo moved up to a Wolf now. :) He is very excited.
I'm cooking... This week we made Daddy's favorite cookies. He works really hard and has put up with all my odd Paleo type goodies lately... I thought he deserved his favorite recipe cookies for a change....
I'm reading... Nothing on my own really. We are continuing the 39 Clues series and we are working on several reviews. I have some books coming for me to review so that will be my reading soon :)
I'm grateful for... Laundry, dirty dishes, a refrigerator that needs to be cleaned out... Read why here.
I'm praying for... My dog. I think there is something going on with him and it's not good. He is getting older and moving slower... And you just know when you know? Yeah.. That...
A photo of the week... Oscar was really wanting to help Boo Bear with his work.. Really...

Thankful Thursday
I have a lot to be thankful for. Sometimes I have to remind myself of this. Especially at times when the laundry never seems to end, there are toys everywhere, and the refrigerator doesn't have room to put stuff in it anymore. :) I remind myself that there are those out there that would love to have laundry to do, toys to pick up and food over running their fridge. Because of that I am so very grateful for all that God has blessed us with. So this week I'm thankful for:
- Laundry baskets that are never empty except for the 10 seconds after I put them in the washing machine.
- Dishes that fill the sink and are multiplying as we speak.
- The rain that is pouring down right now because of a tropical storm visiting. It might be more than we need at one time but we could be in a drought!
- Game night with my family. Although playing DOGOPOLY multiple times in a row can make you go bonkers...
- A family full of crazy folks that love each other and love to laugh.
- Friends and family that I can depend on in hard times to lift us up to the Father.
- Seeing the changes in my kiddo as he matures and grows.
- Stopping in the middle of Wal Mart because my son had the urge to pray quietly and wants to do it right then. If only I could listen that well...
What are you thankful for this week? Share your gifts and remember to count them daily. Even the small things!
